Southern Subscribers Show They Appreciate Excellent Customer Service

The recent holidays found Southern subscribers caught up in the giving spirit of the season. Their cards, letters and tips made it clear to Routes just how much they appreciate the customer service they receive from the Southern carriers. Carrier holiday tips of $11,500.00 were reported this year (That's $2,000.00 more than last year!) and subscriber praise of Southern carriers was equally generous. Here's a sample of what they had to say:

Dear Sandi (Riggs):
You have done a wonderful job delivering the our paper -- it is always dry and on the porch. The older I get, the more I appreciate your exceptional delivery service.

Sincerely,
Sarah Gerselman

To whom it may concern:
My paper service has been excellent. So, I'm adding a $20.00 tip to my renewal check.

Stephen W. Smith

Dear Debbie Brase:
Thank you so much for the excellent service you have provided this year in your delivery of the Southern Illinoisan newspaper. We appreciate your always putting it right at the door. We hope you accept this gift as an appreciation of your excellent service. We hope your new year is healthy and happy.

Thanks again,
Robert and Wanda Boyd

Dear Southern:
Please extend my deepest thanks to my reliable and considerate carrier, Michael White, as you give him this well-deserved tip. I just wish I could give him more. His thoughtfulness in placing the paper on the porch right beside the door is truly appreciated. He must truly be a caring individual and someday he will be blessed for his care and concern. Please convey this to him! Thank you all and may you all have a very Merry Holiday Season.

Sincerely,
Melba Joost
