DESCRIPTION OF WORK Base Bid: Work consists of construction of an addition between existing Buildings B and E, three stories, 48,300 square feet. Construction will be drilled reinforced concrete piers, reinforced concrete foundations, concrete slab on grade, steel frame, composite slab for elevated floors, metal roof deck. Exterior walls are metal studs and insulation, with brick veneer and aluminum composite panels outside, painted gypsum board inside, aluminum window system. Roofing system is single ply membrane roofing system on rigid insulation. Interior walls are metal studs with gypsum board. Interior finishes include painted walls, vinyl wall covering, face brick, acoustical panel ceiling system, carpet tile, ceramic tile, and vinyl composition tile. Work also includes plumbing, hvac, and electrical work. Site work consists of reinforced concrete and brick retaining walls and planters, concrete sidewalks and patios, concrete stairs and ramps, modifications and additions to existing storm water system, and rough and finish grading. Alternate Bid No. 1: Work consists of installation of compacted fill and construction of a new parking lot and associated concrete sidewalks. Parking lot will be bituminous paving with concrete curb and gutter. Alternate Bid No. 2: Work consists of construction of an additional story, 18,400 square feet, and extension of an existing stairway to serve the additional story. Exterior walls and roof are as described under Base Bid. No interior partitions and finishes, other than stairs and elevator enclosures, are included. Work also includes plumbing, hvac, and electrical work. Public Notice Blasting Schedule In accordance with the "Surface Coal Mining and Land Conservation and Reclamation Act of 1980", Section 1816.64 of the regulations, Arclar Company, LLC hereby provides public notice of a planned blasting schedule for the Wildcat Hills Mine, Cottage Grove Pit located near Equality, Illinois commencing and ending as shown in item #2. 1. The blast signal consists of a series of short siren blasts, one [1] minute prior to the shot. The all-clear signal consists of a prolonged siren. 5. NOTICE OF RESCHEDULING BLASTING Before blasting in areas or at times not identified in a previous published schedule, a revised schedule shall be published at least 10 days, but not more than 30 days, prior to commencing the new blasting activities. 6. PRE-BLAST SURVEYS Upon written request by a resident or owner of a dwelling or structure that is located within one-half mile of any portion of the permitted area, or by the owner of a dwelling or structure at a distance greater than one-half mile from the permit area, but within one mile of the blasting area, a pre-blasting survey or a condition survey of the dwelling or structure will be promptly conducted and a report of the survey submitted to the Department and to the person requesting the survey. If a structure is renovated or added to, subsequent to a pre-blast survey or a condition survey, then upon request to the Department, a survey of such additions and renovations shall be performed in accordance with this section. Notice of Public Hearing The Egyptian Area Agency on Aging is holding three public hearings to discuss its Area Plan of services for older adults in the thirteen southernmost counties of Illinois. The public hearings will be held Friday, May 30 at noon at the Carbondale Senior Center, 409 N. Springer St.; Monday, June 2 at noon at the Marion Senior Center, 507 W. Main St.; and Tuesday, June 3 at 11 am at the Sunshine Inn, 400 S. Main St. in Anna. A summary of the Area Plan of services may be viewed at each public hearing site and at senior centers throughout Southern Illinois. Services to be provided include transportation, information and assistance, outreach, case management, ombudsman, legal assistance, respite care, congregate and home delivered meals, health promotion, family caregiver support services, and elder abuse prevention and education. The Egyptian Area Agency on Aging is requesting a waiver next year to be the service provider agency for supportive, nutrition, health promotion, and family caregiver services in Union County.
